The Legion of Mary is an international Catholic lay apostolic organization founded in Dublin, Ireland, in 1921. Its mission is to glorify God and grow in holiness through prayer, evangelization, and works of mercy under the guidance of Mary, the Mother of Jesus.
Legionaries meet weekly for prayer, spiritual formation, and planning apostolic works. Activities include visiting the sick and lonely, leading prayer groups, and distributing Catholic literature. Members seek to imitate Mary’s humility and faith by sharing the Gospel and serving those in need. The Legion is open to all Catholics and provides an opportunity to deepen one’s faith through active engagement in the Church’s mission.
